The Macao Science Center, designed by I.M. Pei with Pei Partnership Architects, is built in a prominent position near the sea and is now a landmark of Macao. It is very visible when arriving on the Jetfoil from Hong Kong. The main building is in a distinctive, asymmetrical, conical shape with a spiral walkway and large atrium inside. Galleries lead off the walkway, mainly consisting of interactive exhibits aimed at science education.
